The court in Reus, Spain, decided that a divorced woman, who had been divorced for more than 20 years, should receive a widow's pension.
The interesting thing about this ruling is that the judge considers that the cause of the divorce in 1992 would be considered, today, as gender violence.
It should be noted that the widow did not meet the requirements of Spanish law, so the only possibility was to prove that the woman was a victim of gender violence. Read more.
