Yesterday, the demonstration against gender violence took place in Lanzarote, where, once again, our lawyers were present.
The demonstration on the occasion of the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, was called by the Forum against Gender Violence in Lanzarote. It left from Calle Real to Parque Islas Canarias, where a manifesto was read out.
93 women were murdered in Spain in 2023, 52 of them by their partners or ex-partners. According to the report of the General Council of the Judiciary, the number of women victims of gender violence in the Canary Islands also increased between April and June this year compared to 2022. It went from 2,366 to 2,818, 452 more, an increase of 19.1%.
