On 2 February 1990, the Plenary Session of the Corporation of Torrox (Malaga), accused this worker of having abandoned his duties in the accounts between 1988 and 1989 and agreed to terminate his services without giving him three months' notice.
Since then, they have recalled, a judicial soap opera began in which the worker went to ask for compensation of more than 12 million euros.
The current mayor of Torrox, Oscar Medina, has made effective the agreement to settle the compensation for dismissal, which was made without the three months' notice stipulated in the contract signed at the time. "It's the highest indemnity, I think, in the history of Spain."
