For the next three months, rental contracts in Spain that are subject to an annual review will have to limit the rent increase to 2%.

The Spanish Law on Urban Leases stipulates that rents can rise year on year according to the CPI (consumer price index). Before, the CPI did not rise much and most landlords did not even apply this update. But now, with inflation, the CPI has skyrocketed and many landlords have wanted to update their rents, which means a significant increase in rent.
