The High Court of Justice of Andalusia (Spain) has ruled in favour of three female civil servants of the town council of Ecija (Seville) who suffered wage discrimination by not receiving 6,500 euros per year, which their male colleagues did receive.

The ruling states that the female civil servants, in the administrative category, receive between 21,466 and 30,000 euros, and the male civil servants between 32,000 and 36,000 euros.

Therefore, according to the ruling, there is "evidence of discrimination based on sex for four years, since all the men have been paid more than all the women in the same category", despite the fact that there was a report from the city council in favour of paying the women. Read more.
